Summer Rental

On Saturday we returned from Hilton Head Island, the site of our first vacation with Lana. We expected that traveling with a baby would be challenging, so we purposely chose a fairly close location and invited John’s parents along so they could baby-sit spend quality time with Lana.

As it turns out, Lana is a pro traveler. She managed to sleep for the majority of the car ride there and back, waking up just long enough to charm the people of middle Georgia during our lunch stops. She also managed to sleep through the night consistently, despite the strange surroundings and dull roar of crickets and other creepy crawlies.

Lana’s favorite activities during vacation were playing with Grandpa first thing in the morning, splashing in the pool, throwing sand at the beach, throwing everything she could reach at restaurants, chasing bubbles with Grandma and Grandpa, and going for strolls in the evening. John and I enjoyed spending the extra time together as a family, and because Lana is so darn cute it proved to be a reasonable alternative to more traditional vacation activities like sleeping late and relaxing.
